The Anasazi culture was a prevalent culture whereas significant variety exists within pottery. Archaeologists have classified Anasazi pottery styles into a number of wares or groups of pottery types which share the massiveness of structural and enhancing decorative features. Surrounding each creation of Anasazi pottery ware, a chronological historical sequence can be traced from the beginnings of the Anasazi culture to the ending.
The Many Types of Anasazi Pottery Wares
Tusayan Gray Ware is a type of Anasazi pottery which is found in the northeastern quarter of Arizona.
Tusayan White Ware is adorned Anasazi Pottery Ware also found in the northeastern quarter of Arizona.
Little Colorado White Ware is a type of Anasazi pottery found in the narrow strip flanking the Little Colorado River as it runs through northern Arizona.
Mesa Verde White Anasazi Pottery Ware is found mainly in the southwest area of Colorado in the area around Mesa Verde.
Pajarito Gray Ware is a type of Anasazi pottery found in the northern Rio Grande part, in the region of Santa Fe and in the Jemez Mountains.
Cibola White Anasazi Pottery Ware is found in east-central Arizona and also in west-central New Mexico.
White Mountain Red Ware is a type of Anasazi Pottery found in the east-central part of Arizona and west-central part of New Mexico.
San Juan Orange Anasazi Pottery Ware is found in the southeast corner of Utah, along the San Juan Basin.
Tsegi Orange Anasazi Pottery Ware is found in the northernmost area of Arizona which is north of Flagstaff.
Jeddito Yellow Ware is a type of Anasazi pottery which is reasonably easy to distinguished and is considered the ancestor of historic Hopi.
Anasazi Pottery Ware is very unique beautifully constructed pottery and can be purchased online from specialty online stores that sell Anasazi pottery or various types of Native American artifacts.
