A new National Miss Indian USA has been crowned in the Nation's Capital. She is Miss Evonne Wilson of the Tohono O'Odham Tribe and she lives in Tuscon, Arizona.  She was crowned Friday evening, November 17th by Princess Pale Moon, Director and Founder of the 10 year old scholarship program.

Miss Indian USA wins over $25,000 in scholarships, cash grants, wardrobe, traveling and car expenses, Ballgown, special trip at the end of her reign, special gifts as well as appearance fees during her reign.

The Candidates, while in Washington are challenged and inspired to aspire, as they journey to find that inner balance between Traditional & Modern ways of life. They form a bond with eachother; "I am an American Indian Woman, Therfore I'll Walk in Beauty as I Walk in Two Worlds".

The 11th National Miss Indian USA Scholarship Program was held during the week of Nov. 12-18th, 2000 at the George Mason University and sponsored by the American Indian Heritage Foundation.
