As Miss Indian USA, Dora lived in Washington, DC for six months and interned at the AIHF.  She also served as a Commissioned Officer of the U.S. Public Health Service on the Apache - White River Reservation as a Pediatric and Clinical Staff Nurse while holding the title.

Appearance highlights include appearing on "Good Morning America" with Willard Scott, appearing as a celebrity guest of the National Independence Day Parade in Washington, DC, and returning as a national role model to Chinle High School to present the Keynote Address to a "standing room only" crowd for Graduation Ceremonies.

Dora holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Arizona State University, completed a Graduate Program in Epidemiology at the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland in 1994, and received her Masters in Public Health in Health Administration & Policy from the University of Tucson in Arizona in May of 1999.
