As Miss Indian USA, Martha lived in Washington, DC and interned at the AIHF. Appearance highlights include interviews on "Good Morning America", "Entertainment Tonight" and "Life Styles of the Rich and Famous". Appearing in the Orange Bowl Parade in Miami, Florida on New Year's Day 1986.  Filming a PSA with Bill Cosby promoting American Indian Heritage Week.

Meeting with Wayne Newton on his ranch, Casa del Shenandoah in Las Vegas, Nevada, to receive a Spanish Arabian horse on behalf of the Miss Indian USA scholarship program. 

Martha holds a Bachelor of Arts in Fashion from Stephens College for Women in Columbia, Missouria.
